Venueseeker’s top 5 brunch spots

We’re yet to find a single person who doesn’t love brunch, and it’s not difficult to see why. A wonderful fusion of breakfast and lunch, this is a meal where both sickly sweet pancakes and gourmet burgers are entirely acceptable, even encouraged! A few hours later people might think you a fool for pairing fried meats with maple syrup and overly indulgent coffees topped with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles… but not at brunch. At brunch anything goes!

Here are 5 of our favourite brunch spots in the capital. Perfect for lazy sundays.

The Wolseley
Piccadilly

Looking for a bit of luxury? You’ll find it at The Wolseley, arguably the finest brunch spot in London town. We can’t get enough of this elaborate brunch menu, featuring everything from the traditional Full English to decadent granola – and of course all the viennoiserie you could dream of.

The Breakfast Club
Hoxton, Angel, Soho, Spitalfields

Try Brunch with an All American menu at The Breakfast Club, a chain of restaurants so popular you may well have to queue – but it’ll be worth it once you’re faced with a stack of their incredible fluffy pancakes. An absolute must is a trip behind the fridge, just ask your server if you can pay a visit to the Mayor of Scaredycat town for a morning Mojito!

Kopapa
Monmouth Street, Covent Garden

Go for a brunch with a Kiwi twist at Peter Gordon’s Kopapa. Located in the heart of Covent Garden’s Seven Dials, this restaurant serves up an unusual brunch menu featuring ricotta pancakes with avocado and roasted grapes, Turkish eggs with hot chilli butter and much more. And don’t miss the smoothies – they’re to die for!

The Modern Pantry (pictured)
Clerkenwell

A light, bright restaurant with a classy, contemporary feel, Anna Hansen’s Modern Pantry is one of Clerkenwell’s hidden gems. Hansen puts a Kiwi twist on modern classics, serving up French toast with vattalapam spice and an exotic take on the good old fry up, which comes complete with chorizo and plantain fritters.

The Table Cafe
Southwark

Stroll along the South Bank and relax with a brunch at The Table, a hidden gem in the heart of Southwark where the team are entirely committed to impeccable sourcing and quality British ingredients. Their pancakes and waffles have long been receiving rave reviews, and now they’re available during the week too.
