This week’s top venue is a true icon of the arts world, the Victoria & Albert Museum. The highly acclaimed museum of art and design has a fantastic range of stunning spaces available for private hire.
The central Dome area offers an incredible setting for events for up to 700 people, and boasts high ceilings, marble flooring and classical architecture. The contemporary reception desk in the centre of the Dome serves as a fantastic cocktail bar for a drinks reception, or the space can accommodate 250 guests for seated dinners and dinner dances.
The Victoria and Albert Museum’s galleries are also available for hire. Opened to the public in 2009, the Medieval and Renaissance Galleries showcase the largest collection from the period. This network of ten galleries makes an unrivalled event space, and can host up to 300 guests for awards, Christmas parties, dinners, drinks receptions and summer parties.
The Dorothy and Michael Hintze Sculpture Galleries, displaying some of the V&A’s finest sculptures, are also available for private hire. The striking space has dramatic black and white marble flooring and floor to ceiling windows that look out onto the Madejski Gardens. These galleries can accommodate either 60 seated dinner guests or up to 300 standing guests. The adjacent Madejski Garden is a tranquil space with room for up to 700 guests, who will be treated to inimitable views of the Museum’s 19th Century terracotta façade.
The Victoria and Albert Museum’s other spaces include the Raphael Gallery, Fashion Galleries, the contemporary Sackler Centre, the Hochhauser Auditorium and various seminar rooms.
