The Best Underground Bars in London

Are you tired of the same old haunts every weekend? Then, it’s time to go underground, and we don’t mean spend a Saturday night spent stuck on the night tube!

Instead, try something different and discover the best-hidden bars the capital has to offer. Sink a drink on one of London’s underground bars or head out to an underground event with our guide to some of the coolest hidden hangouts.

Original Sin | Nearest Station: Stoke Newington

If you’re familiar with Happiness Forgets, you’ll love its sister bar. Original Sin specialises in tasty cocktails with some rather exotic ingredients. If you can’t find anything that tickles your fancy, they are more than happy to create something for you.

BYOC | Nearest Station: Leicester Square or Camden Town

If you’re happy to bring a bottle of whatever you prefer, you’ll pay a £25 cover charge, and you can look forward to the bar staff creating whatever cocktail you desire for two hours and based on your bottle.

Call Me Mr Lucky | Nearest Station: London Bridge

If you like a little mystery, the need to know a password, and the idea of traipsing through the kitchen to get to the bar with a key card, you’ll love the vibe at Call Me Mr Lucky. The bar is located in the basement of the Breakfast Club, close to London Bridge and serves up a concoction of infused tequila and an array of beers.

WC Clapham| Nearest Station: Clapham Common

A former public toilet, integral to the Tube station but derelict for years, has reopened as a wine bar – WC Clapham. The bar includes original wall tiles and floor mosaics, cubicle doors turned into tables and low-lit booths.

Underdog | Nearest Station: Shoreditch High Street

Fancy a beer cocktail? Ale fans love the cocktail bar that can be found below a Brewdog Pub. If you’re not the biggest beer fan, we recommend the rather moreish Corpse Reviver.

Our capital has a lot to offer underground; you just have to know where to look! Use our guide this weekend and try out one or more of the underground pubs. Or, if you’re looking for somewhere to hire for your next party get in touch.
